Being Great in Business

As I’m a huge fan of Mark Cuban I’d thought I’d share a few more pearls of wisdom.  Mark consistently says there are no shortcuts in business and I 100% agree. If you want to win, he says keep these 4 things in mind:

  1. Know how to sell.  Selling means being able to express, communicate and convey why your product or service will make things better. Selling is always about helping, never convincing.
  2. Know as much as you can about technology. Its beautiful how technology is always innovating and changing but what that means is you must continue to change with it. Keep a strong effort to keep learning.
  3. Put yourself in the shoes of your customer. I’ve written about this in the past, but this one is huge. Know your audience. Where they are coming from and where they are going. If you know how to put the person you are dealing with in a position to succeed, you can be successful.
  4. Solutions.  Always ask how you would design a solution if no current solution existed. 99% of the things we do in business are being done the way they have always been done. No one has re-imagined how things should be done.  Lets look for new solutions.

Hope this helps, invigorates and encourages you wherever you are at!
