HAPPY HOUR, for your face

My sunday night ritual consists of changing my bed linens, a bowl of pasta while watching Game of Thrones, and sitting at some point with a piece of cloth on my face for an hour. Long live face masks! For good skin care, what you do every day is ten times more important then a facial mask once a week, but it can also be a relaxing and pampering experience. Facial masks primarily come in two main categories to treat oily skin or treat dry skin. If you have combination skin, like most of us do, you can do a little of each where needed. Here are some excellent options..

If you have oily or acne prone skin, these masks will contain ingredients to absorb excess oil and mattify the skin. My go-to is Clinique's Acne Solutions Oil Control Cleansing mask. It is fragrance free and loaded with soothing clay and plant extracts to rid skin of excess oil while calming.

If you have normal to dry skin, your mask options should have ingredients to repair and hydrate. A small fortune, but worth every penny is SK-II Facial Treatment Masks. You'll get 6 pre-moistened sheets soaked in pitera, which is their exclusive blend of vitamins, amino acids and minerals to rejuvenate and hydrate. A less expensive option is Olay's Pro X Intensive Firming Treatment Masks. Also in cloth-sheet form, these are loaded with hydrating peptides and hyaluronic acid, so you'll get a little temporary tightening effect with ultimate hydration.
